About us

Q. Will your kit fit my Yamazuki 441?

A. Our dual sport kits are designed to work with any bike that has power for lights.

If your bike did not come stock with any power source for lights you can add a lighting coil. The lighting coil is installed on the stator plate under your flywheel. When installing a lighting coil you will also need to add a headlight regulator to control the output voltage (or a 12V regulator/rectifier and a battery).

Q.  Do I need a battery?

A. That will depend on your state requirements or your own needs. If your state requires the lights to work with the motor off then yes, you will need a battery (check with your DMV).

To add a battery you will need at least 70 watts available output from your stator.

If you just intend to ride the roads between trails you probably won't need a battery.

Q. Does it come with step by step instructions?

A. Because of the universal nature of our kits it is not possible to include 'step by step' instructions. If you purchase one of our wiring harnesses you will receive what we call 'installation notes' which will explain where each color coded wire is connected. It is not complicated but you should be ready to supply a bit of your own ingenuity to determine where to mount the turn signals, horn, etc.

If you intend to fabricate your own harness, our handlebar switch includes a chart explaining each wire function by color.

Q. Where does the hydraulic brake light switch go?

A. The brake switch replaces one of the banjo bolts in your brake system. We like to use the one that connects the rear brake hose to the master cylinder. Yes, you will have to bleed your brakes after installing it. For bikes with drum brakes we can substitute a mechanical brake light switch.
